Calamity

The Calamity is a milkshake cocktail with a rim and cherry garnish.

Folks, this was my second try for the day. The End Times was undrinkable, so I took that mess and added Butter Pecan ice cream to it.

It was the only ice cream that I had (shockingly) and I thought that I could save this cocktail by turning it into a sort-of milkshake. It was definitely better, but still not enjoyable. There were chunks of pecans and butter-cream candy, and if if there’s one thing I hate, it’s chewing my drinks (talking to you, bubble tea!).

FAIL

This was a tough day, so maybe it was destined to fail…not only the anniversary of September 11th, which is still difficult for me as a former New Yorker, but if you look in the photo above, you can see how the smoke from the climate fires was clinging everywhere in the air. Normally, that’s a crisp, clear view for miles.

And so the pandemic continues…

Ingredients

  • End Times Cocktail (a previous FAIL)
  • 2 Nip bottles of Whiskey

  • 4 sugar cubes

  • Splashes of Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate

  • 2 Dashes of Bitters

  • Tiny amount of Cherry “brine” from jar of cherries

  • Splash of Vanilla Extract

  • New Ingredients
  • 2 scoops of Butter Pecan Ice Cream

  • Rim
  • Cocoa Powder

  • Sugar

  • Garnish
  • The same cherry as in the failed End Times

Directions

  • Add all (except garnish and rim) to a blender.
  • Rim glass, and garnish with cherry.
  • Hold your breath and get ready to chew.
