Double Trouble

The sweetest dog in the world observes two cocktails on the porch.

Like artists, who can sometimes riff on their own work for long periods, we often try variations on a cocktail we’ve made. Sometimes, it means trying to improve a cocktail that didn’t quite make it, but more often, it means we really enjoyed something and want to have something like it again.

Enter the Double Trouble. It’s very close to the Fire Saga, which Elizabeth created the day before. That drink is related to a margarita (like this one) and contains tequila, lime, a rim, and lavender simple syrup. The Double Trouble (also titled after the Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga movie) omits the lavender simple syrup and is therefore pretty close to a Nameless Dog.

It’s clean and bright, focusing on the citrus.

Our dog Pabu is focusing on the cocktail because he likes to be involved, and he thinks he likes adult beverages (coffee is another one).

  • 3 oz. Tequila

  • Juice from several limes

  • Rim
  • Chipotle

  • Salt

  • Juice the limes, and add to tequila in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  • Rim glass with chipotle and salt (before you pour – don’t forget!)
  • If you’re able to enjoy this cocktail with your dog, that’s the best way. Cheers!
Enjoyed on July 26
