Margarita (September 4, 2021)

A classic margarita is poured over ice - not frozen - and garnished with a lime and salt rim.

This margarita came to me through luck. Elizabeth’s friend Katherine came for a short (micro) visit and they had margaritas while I was busy on a Zoom class. They made enough for three, in case I’d be able to join them, which I’m glad about!

But this is the only record of that drink, because Elizabeth didn’t take a picture last night. It’s like she doesn’t read our own blog or something!

She worried that it wasn’t sweet enough for me, but it was very good! Very classic, and not too sweet. I don’t think margaritas should be overly sweet, or they taste artificial.

  • Tequila

  • Triple Sec

  • Lime juice

  • Rim: salt and just a shimmer of chili

  • I don’t know her proportions here, but it should be tequila-forward…shake ingredients with ice and pour into a rimmed glass, over ice.
  • Cheers!
