Season’s Greetings (December 20)

Two cocktails wait in front of a Christmas tree.

After last night’s super-successful Season’s Greetings, we went back to the well for more!

It’s the same drink, with a slight emphasis on lemon over orange – with Max’s candied lemons for garnishes, a lovely rim, the singular taste of Flaggpunsch…the only difference is that we posed the cocktails in front of the tree.

In case anyone is interested in what sits atop our tree, here’s a close-up. Pabu!

The star at the top of this Christmas tree features our dog, Pabu (collaged as a snowman)!

I couldn’t resist when I saw this (nor could I resist customizing with Pabu’s actual photo), and in case anyone is interested, I got it from Stan and Stew’s Mom, on Etsy.

  • 2 oz. Gin

  • 2 oz. Swedish Flaggpunsch

  • 2 oz. Lemon Juice

  • Rim
  • Sugar

  • Lemon Zest

  • Garnish
  • Candied Lemon Slice (from Max)

  • Rim glass with a swipe of lemon wedge, then sugar and lemon zest.
  • Shake all liquids together with ice, until satisfied.
  • Pour and enjoy in front of the tree! Season’s Greetings!

Sounds and looks delicious! I’ve never heard of Swedish Flaggpunsch. I’ll have to look it up. Always looking for something new to try. Thanks again! Happy New Year!

Yeah, give Flaggpunsch a try, Kristi! I think I've seen it in Total Wine or BevMo - you don't need to go to Sweden! :)

Also, do you think you could use vodka in place of gin? ☺️

Yes, I don't see why not! Any flavor that goes missing from the gin should be made up with the Flaggpunsch and lemons (I think). Let me know if it works!! Cheers!

Once again, it was a true delight!
